Do you like the look of the Nokia C7 but want a version that stands out? Or do you just have a lot of extra money to spend? If so then –un like me – you might be attracted by the Nokia Oro. It’s an exclusive new phone that’s a mixture of the C7 with a better and more attractive design and is marketed – according to the Nokia marketing department – at the Middle East and areas of Russia where their premium phones sell the best.
It costs around four times as much as the C7 so what do you get for your money? It’s based on Symbian and comes with the latest version known as Anna. It also has a custom theme so that the GUI matches with the golden design of the phone, something which might be attractive to people who have far too much money to spend on a mobile phone and are much too interested in looking good for their own benefit.
So, why is the phone called the Oro? Apparently Oro means gold, and the handset comes with an 18 carat cold palate surrounding it which will certainly make it stand out. The back of the phone has a leather finish, along with a sapphire to protect the home button. It could look worse, I admit, but I just can’t see why anyone would buy it. It definitely isn’t a phone I’d be interested in getting.
